Our village. Our future.

Bringing youth football back to the village.

Woolavington Sparks is the new youth section of Woolavington Football Club. We're starting with our youngest players, building a place where local children can make friends, enjoy football and feel part of their community.

Village rootsFootball for the futureOne club, all generations

A fresh start for youth football in Woolavington.

Woolavington Football Club already has a men's team and a women's team. Sparks is the youth side of that same club — not a separate organisation.

Our hope is to give local children somewhere to enjoy football in their own village, with more age groups and teams as we grow. We're at the beginning of that journey, and that's something we're proud to be open about.

Building a proper youth football pathway will take time, parents, volunteers and the whole village behind us. But it starts here.

Small beginnings.
Big ambitions.

We're kicking things off with Little Sparks: relaxed, age-appropriate football for our youngest players, with fun and confidence at the heart of every session.

Little Sparks

Football doesn't need to be complicated. At this age, it's about getting active, enjoying the ball, learning through games and making friends. Whether your child has played before or is trying football for the first time, they're welcome to come and have a go.

If football isn't right for your child, there's no notice period or cancellation fee. We want players to stay because they're enjoying themselves.

Once your child has tried a session and you decide to join, we’ll invite you to our private Spond group for attendance, club updates and monthly payment requests.

We're thinking beyond one age group.

Our ambition is a youth section that can support players throughout their childhood. We'll take things at a sustainable pace, led by demand and the volunteers available.

01 · RIGHT NOW

Establish Little Sparks

Build a welcoming, consistent Sunday morning offer for children in Years 1 and 2.

02 · EARLY 2027 — OUR AIM

Welcome Reception children

We're hoping to introduce a session for Reception-year children as our next step, subject to enough interest and support.

03 · THE LONGER TERM

Grow more youth teams

Work towards teams and opportunities across all youth age groups, with more coaches, volunteers and facilities as needed.

A village club needs village people.

For Sparks to grow, we'll need coaches, helpers, parents and volunteers. You don't need to be an experienced football coach to make a difference — if you'd like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you. Appropriate club safeguarding checks and requirements apply to relevant roles.

Frequently asked questions

Is Woolavington Sparks a separate football club?

No. Sparks is the youth section of Woolavington Football Club, alongside its men's and women's sections.

What if my child has never played football before?

That's absolutely fine. Little Sparks is designed to be a friendly introduction to football with lots of games, movement and fun.

Do we have to pay straight away?

No. New children can try Little Sparks before joining. We’ll explain when their £10 monthly subscription will start, particularly if they join partway through a month.

What happens if my child wants to stop?

There are no contracts, notice periods or cancellation charges. Simply let us know they won't be continuing.

When will more age groups start?

We're aiming to introduce a Reception-year session early in 2027, then gradually expand further as interest, volunteers and resources allow.

Do we need Spond before attending?

No. Simply contact the club about a taster session first. If your child enjoys it and you decide to join, we’ll send a private Spond invitation. Parents then register as guardians and add their children as players.

Be part of the next chapter.

2. Bring your child along to see what Little Sparks is like.
3. If you decide to join, we’ll send you a private Spond invitation and explain the monthly subscription.

Are you a potential volunteer?

Tell us how you'd like to help. As we add age groups, every extra pair of hands will matter.
